Proposal for the OLED’s Go competition of LG displays x dezeen

The R’OLED&GO project is a nomad 42” smart TV designed to take advantage of the LG Display’s rollable OLED technology. Lightweight, robust, easy to carry around and simple to manipulate thanks to its space-saving format, the R’OLED&GO will follow you wherever you go, wherever your audience is. 

The design is inspired by a blueprint tube case used by architects to transport large drawings. Rolled up, the screen is contained in an octagon extrusion that can be stored and protected in an elegant case that is safe to travel with. 

Open, R’OLED&GO offers two possibilities. You can either put it on a table and unroll the screen up, or you can put it upside down on a single attachment point on the wall thanks to its hanger strap. 

The container is a built of aluminum wrapped in a soft and protective recycled plastic. On a table, the weight bar stands thanks to a support mast implemented in the shell. All the buttons are implemented in a seamless design. The screen is rolled around a hardware bar that contains all the electronics and a built-in battery pack.

Proposal for the OLED’s Go competition of LG displays x dezeen

The Mistyou project is an outdoor art show display designed to take advantage of the transparent OLED technology of LG display. Due to their nature, the transparent OLED panels depend on a low light environment to be able to display contrasting images that compete with traditional non-transparent screens. Nevertheless, we believe that transparent screen technology should not try to compete on the same market as traditional screens, but rather expand its use to new fields. In brighter environments, the transparent OLED panels will only perform well displaying bright colors, white pixels being most optimal. Mistyou tackles this problem and makes it the starting point of its design.
The design consists of a transparent safe box that could house ever- changing historical items, art pieces, installations or any other material to be displayed to the public. This glowing white box would populate plazas in urban centers and would advertise visitors on daily cultural events happening in the city.
The steel structure would consist of backlit white polycarbonate panels and six 55” transparent OLED screens. The OLED screens would display white pixels in order to mimic the look of the polycarbonate and completely blend in with the white translucent volume. By brightening up some pixels, the screen could display texts that are relevant to the art piece, its context and its connection with the city’s events. By dimming down some pixels and eventually turning them off, it could reveal what is hidden behind it in a dissipating fog animation. Animations would create the illusion of a volume full of mist, suddenly revealing what is inside as it interacts with the passerby.

Fondé par deux architectes et un designer industriel, le studio regroupe des compétences et savoir-faire complémentaires afin de proposer des solutions de design global à toutes les échelles de projet.

Nourri par les expériences variées et multigénérationnelles des 3 associés, le studio propose des créations revisitant les techniques de construction traditionnelles au regard des enjeux contemporains.
